Eastbourne is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post system of election. Traditionally a safe Conservative seat, Eastbourne became very marginal following the 1990 by-election between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats for many years. The Liberal Democrats gained the seat at the 2010 general election.
